AMIBW MEDIA ECOSYSTEM ANNOUNCES “THE DISAPPEARING ACT” AN 8-EPISODE LIVE INVESTIGATIVE BROADCAST SERIES ON THE DECLINE OF BLACK PLAYERS IN MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

Nationally Distributed Series Premieres October 3, 2026 on Changing Trends and Times | Host Charles Zackary King Leads 8-Week Investigation Across Eight Live Broadcasts

ATLANTA, GA — October 3, 2026 AMIBW Media Ecosystem (America in Black and White), the Atlanta and soon Washington, D.C.-based multimedia platform dedicated to Black investigative journalism and cultural accountability, today announced The Disappearing Act, an 8-episode live investigative broadcast series premiering Saturday, October 3, 2026, on Changing Trends and Times.

The series investigates one of the most significant and persistently underreported stories in American professional sports: the dramatic, decades-long decline of Black American players in Major League Baseball. In 1981, Black players comprised approximately 19% of MLB rosters. Today, that figure has fallen to just 6.2%. The Disappearing Act will spend eight consecutive Saturday broadcasts examining the economic, institutional, structural, and cultural forces driving this decline and demanding accountability from the institutions positioned to reverse it.

“This is the series I have been building toward for years,” said host and creator Charles Zackary King. “The disappearance of Black players from Major League Baseball is not an accident. It is the result of decisions, decisions about money, infrastructure, media, and power, that have been made over decades. This investigation names those decisions, follows the money, and amplifies the voices of the players, coaches, families, and communities that have been most directly affected. It is time for this story to be told in full.”
